OUR STORY
The fashion industry produces 92 million tons of textile waste annually. Most of it ends up in landfills or gets incinerated. Meanwhile, consumers keep buying, driven by trends that last weeks, or months.
We looked at this cycle and asked a simple question: Why should your wardrobe refresh come at the planet's cost? We saw this as an opportunity to define what circular fashion truly means. So we decided to build it with Mother.
Mother is a sustainable apparel and accessories label founded on the belief that fashion doesn't have to be disposable. Born in Nagpur, Maharashtra, India, Mother transforms preloved garments and industrial textile waste into thoughtfully ecodesigned pieces. The brand's mission is twofold: to create exceptional circular fashion pieces that last, and to inspire designers worldwide to adopt ecodesign as a standard practice.
Every Mother collection introduces a curated ecodesign principle in action, from zero-waste pattern cutting to modular construction to repair-friendly seaming, turning each piece into a tangible lesson in responsible design.
By sourcing from, manufacturing deadstock, and neighbourhood donations, community partners, Mother diverts significant textile waste from landfills while supporting local circular economy initiatives.
The brand's 50+ ecodesign principles playbook serves as a working framework, proving that sustainability and exceptional design are not a compromise, but a powerful synergy.

Fair Labor & Community Empowerment
Beyond creating beautiful, durable pieces, Mother is committed to transparency and community impact. Every garment is handcrafted using plant-based detergents, cold-water washing, and water-recycling systems minimizing environmental footprint at every stage. Mother employs skilled local makers and prioritizes fair wages, quality working conditions, and craft-centered production over mass manufacturing.
The brand refuses to greenwash; sustainability is embedded in design decisions, not marketing claims. With each collection, Mother documents its material origin, recycled content % and exact ecodesign principles used, allowing customers to understand the grit behind their purchase. This commitment to education extends beyond customers. Mother's goal is to catalyze industry-wide adoption of ecodesign practices, making sustainable fashion the standard rather than the exception. Mother is not just a clothing brand; it is a movement reshaping how fashion is created, proving that circular design, ethical craftsmanship, and environmental responsibility can coexist with bold, innovative style.
